Contemporary and Sophisticated Family Home Refresh

Creating a space designed for entertaining and socializing was the goal of this contemporary and sophisticated family home refresh. Muted colors from nature such as greens, browns and wood tones and the use of more delicate fabrics and materials achieve a more mature style. In the main entryway, the arches were squared off and the original flooring replaced with real marble mosaic tile. Obscured digital camo patterned wallpaper covers the ceiling in the formal living room where the fireplace was re-done with new marble. The dining room is a darker, warm and moody entertaining space; the wall paneling has lower reeded detailing and upper grass cloth covering. Originally stained in a dark mahogany, the home office was repainted in a warm muddy taupe and updated with reeded glass in the cabinetry and a comfortable chair in front of the window. The showstopper kitchen has a stunning marble backsplash, stainless steel hood with brass banding, deep blue teal island with a Caesarstone top, mixed creamy light gray and deep blue teal cabinetry, and a corner banquette with a walnut table. Off the kitchen is the family room which has an off-center large TV, walnut unit for storage and display, and a fireplace with a curved marble mantel. The hallway between the main hall and powder room has a full height coat closet and a console height cabinet; tropical bird sanctuary wallpaper extends into the powder room which has a simple mirror done in a brushed brass and a vanity updated with the same marble as the kitchen backsplash.
