Renovated Century Lakehouse

This renovated century lakehouse retains its original charm while incorporating modern conveniences. All the windows and French doors were replaced, and a lot of small rooms were opened up to improve the flow. A huge island is the centerpiece of the enlarged kitchen which has unlacquered brass faucets and a large barn door that separates the kitchen from the dining room (acts more as a feature wall as it has never been used). The very practical mudroom addition has a dog shower, big laundry sink, washer, dryer, lots of storage, and a beautiful sight line through the kitchen to the Dutch door. A linen closet and a brasserie style bar flank the passageway between the kitchen and the dining room, which has an expandable round table, X-back chairs and a sideboard. The adjacent craft room does double duty as a kids’ dining room and an overflow space from the dining room. The living room has leather furniture, a composite stone coffee table, fireplace and a cozy reading corner. On the second floor, all of the bathrooms and bedrooms were updated. The principal bedroom has a sitting room and an adjoining sunroom; the principal bathroom has a custom dressing table with matching drapery on the window. Take the tour in this House & Home video:
