Transformed Classic Bungalow

These homeowners needed more space in their traditional bungalow. The only way to expand was upwards, and the renovated home now has three stories. The foyer has a full bank of millwork, mirror and bench, and there is a formal sitting room as well as a living room with a limestone fireplace. The updated kitchen has wood lower cabinetry, a large island, a burnished brass hood, and upper cabinetry with black frames, fluted glass and a white interior. An eight-foot table provides plenty of seating in the adjacent dining room which has a geometric patterned mural. The family room has custom built-ins that houses the TV and provides closed storage for toys. Teal tile in a brick pattern adds visual interest to the powder room. The principal bedroom has a king bed, beautiful drapery, and a walk-in closet, as well as a lovely view of the backyard; the ensuite bath has a water closet, large shower, soaking tub and a window with bottom-up blinds. Upstairs, the family bath has a white oak cabinetry and blue-and-white flooring. Other features include the girl’s bedroom, a guest bedroom and bath, and a lounge with a pull-out couch and kitchenette.
