Master Suite Design Blurs the Lines Between Inside and Out

An architect’s Kuala Lumpur home takes its cues from nature, and it applies as much to the master suite as to the rest of the house. See how its design blurs the lines between inside and out in this Trends video:

In the master bedroom, an entire glass wall opens to the forest-like cocoon that grows all around the house. This planting helps lower the ambient temperature through evaporation and transpiration, which in turn provides a passive cooling system for the house through cross-ventilation.

The master bathroom is a landscaped terrace that opens up to elements as well as to the bedroom. The terrace comes complete with a luxurious jacuzzi and has slatted timber screens on the side and overhead to provide shade, privacy and support for vines. Once in the jacuzzi, one definitely has the feeling of being outside in a lush tropical environment.

Further inside the bathroom is a freestanding double vanity which appears to be suspended in the space. The large ceiling fan overhead helps with the cross-ventilation.
